Spinning class attire?

out of you

Im joined to this new gym close to home and they have a spinning class section Id like to try. Ive never done this before (spinning class) but I want to give it a go. (Im a guy btw)

I have a couple of compression leggings for when I do my walks etc but only wear them under sweat pants. I weigh about 190lbs and am about 5ft 6in. I want to get to about 165lbs. Im stocky build and a little pudgy around the midsection but not fat, probably more heavier than I should be. I want to feel comfortable when in the class. I have a pair of cross training shoes that I will wear as well as a workout tank top thats not cotton.

With the spin class:
are the compression tights good enough to wear?
should I do I just wear my compression tights out in the open or not?
Would I be better of getting proper padded bike shorts?
Would I get too hot wearing sweat pants over the tights/shorts?
Should I just buy a baggier pair of short and wear them over the tights for other peoples comfort?
What is the normal etiquette people have when in class?
Id like comments from both ladies and gentlemen who have experience in this subject. But if you dont thats fine as long as your comment is constructive.

Answer
It sounds like you're the type of person who buys loads of equipment and clothing rather than actually doing the exercise, and imagine that'll do the exercise for you. Proper padded bike shorts? For spinning?

Wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for exercising in. You'll get hot, so don't wear loads of layers, remember you're indoors. If the compression tights are revealing, wear a pair of shorts for everyone else's sake. Go, have fun. Don't think so hard.

What is bigger a bmx race bike or a bmx freestyle?

I have not rode a bike for a year or so and when i went to my friends i tried to ride a mountain bike and fell off and rode in to a bin....So for christmas i am getting a bike which is either a BMX Race bike or a BMX Freestyle bike and i think it is easier to ride a smaller bike so which one is smaller

Answer
Freestyle bikes are usually much shorter so that tricks that involve spinning can be pulled off more easilly.
Race bikes are longer as they spend alot of time in the air (making them more stable)

But it depends on the type of freestyle - Bmx's that are meant for trails (dirt jumps) have a longer rear end to make it more stable but street and park bmx's are shorter so more technical tricks are easier.

So if you plan on doing tricks then get a short bike like this:

Or a long bike like this if you dont:

If you dont plan on doing tricks the longer bike will be better
