Well I want to get my certification to lead these spinning classes, but I am not sure how much they pay instructors. I don't think that they will pay much in a community centre, but maybe more in a private gym or something. Just want to see if it's worth it. If anybody knows what the going rate is around Toronto/Vaughan, Ontario Canada, that would be the closest to the area I live

What do I need to do to become a travel writer?

Blondie
I'm a 17 year old girl, graduating high school next year. I want to travel so much, I have a curious case of wanderlust. And writing is one of my main talents. What I want to know is...how to become a travel writer, like do I need any college experience? How do I begin my career? I need to know EVERYHING about becoming a travel writer.
10 pts to most informational, thorough answer. Thanks :)

Blondie, I know two travel writers online. Here's what they've brought to the table:
They travel, paying their own ways.
They go to places which are not the usual tourist destinations, or if they do hit some tourist spot, they go far from the usual tourist attractions.
They travel by unconventional means at times--how you get there is part of the trip. One woman became a travel writer by traveling from Canada well into Central America by bike.
Their writing skills overall are first-rate. Their copy does not need much or any editing.
They're okay with roughing it, crummy hotels, local foods and entertainment. This lets them see a place through a different viewpoint than most tourists do.
They have the ability to live out of one suitcase indefinitely, prepared for whatever activity presents itself.
They are content to spend days or weeks without being connected to the world online or by phone.
They have a travel companion who supports their goals--traveling solo can be dangerous if something goes wrong.
Often they have a spin or specialty--traveling with kids or teens, traveling as a family, traveling with a disabled person in one's party, traveling with a dog or a horse--or a specific focus like travel for purposes of hiking, shopping, motorcycle rides, or eating local or vegan.
Sound like something you could do? Then find a travel companion and "travel" the city or town where you live. Find the offbeat, the restaurants only the locals know about, the big event, the hotel tips, the insider scoop which would make a visit the best ever. Write it up. Submit it someplace, following their writer's guidelines to the letter. While you wait for a response, travel someplace else.
