Info needed on Spinning / workout bikes?

Angie C

I started my 1st spinning class and I was looking for some answers before my next class....

The bike when to adjust the tennsion up and down. When I was seated and would move to a standing position it was way to easy/free and I felt like I was going to flyover the bars so I would adjust the tension for more road and then would sit and couldnt peddle.

I seemed like I would turn and turn the tension knob and all the sudden it all came at once. either real easy or real hard.

Is there any suggestions on when to adjust the road and when to back off. How much tension should you have when you are standing? 90% of the class I staied seated becasue I couldnt get the feel for the bike but I would like to walk into my 2nd class feeling more comfortable with the bike.

Thanks for any advice
where I appreciate your time in answering..... If you read the question you notice I am not talking about a bike. Yes I have a bike and spinners are alot different then a bike I found that out after the first 5 minutes.

And you would also know I was wanting some info befor I head back to class. The obvious is to ask the instructor, but I was wanting the info to edjucate myself before the next class.

Answer
I'm guessing you were fashionably late and missed the instructions for the session, or you have a poor instructor.

Every spin class I've gone to, we were constantly adjusting tension in accordance with the leaders commands as we changed position and tempo.

anyone know about Spinning and its benefits?

I just purchased a Spinning Bike and I'm excited to start. I remember loving to ride a bike but Becasue I'm overweight I hated the scrutiny of being out doors and being seen.

I also remember how flat my stomach was from riding....will I get an all over workout from this as well?

I bought mine from spinningtv.com

Answer
Spinning is one of the best cardio workouts, the Spinning class at 24 hour fitness will kick your but no matter what fitness level you are in at the time. HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK!!!
