Any input would be great. I have a Kenmore Model # 27612 the 600 series. Serial # CU0445122 bought in early 2007 from sears. Warranty has expired. It doesn't work in the spin cycle. Here is what I have checked so far- the agitator does move, the water fills and empties, not off balance, and the lid switch was taken out and tested to work correctly. Any suggestions on were I can go from here? Thanks!

Answer
~*~ Try calling sears and asking if you can buy the extended warranty. That is what I did quite a while after the initial one year ran out and then after I bought it I called for service and the repair more than paid for the cost fo the 1 year extended warranty.

why does my washing machine stop on spin cycle?

my washing machines spin cycle isn't working all the cycles work up to that point then it stops working and the water is just sitting in it?

Answer
Your lid switch is defective. If you can, unplug the washer, pop the top up, disconnect the two wires going to the lid switch and and tape the two brass contacts together. This is just a safety device so kids don't mess around with the washer while it is spinning. If you do have kids, make sure they don't get hurt before you go buy another switch to replace the broken one.

You may have to pop two clips and disconnect a white mullion connector that is underneath the console, if it is a newer machine. Good luck.
