I just purchased a New in home Spin bike and I dont want it to become a new piece of furniture....I want to use it and continue to use it, but I am a serious couch potatoe...DVD's and the remote is what I'm used to....How can I get up?
Is it possible to gain new habits...purposly?

Answer
Yes, I too was and am secretly a couch tater. I get up with a good DVD workout, keep a diary of my good and bad habits- for accountablity, and have a secret body fantasy in mind while I workout.
If you dream it, you can acheive it- corny... hell yes, but it works. Get a picture of someone whose body you admire, and look at it everyday to keep sight of your goals. You can be just as hot with time and determination. It's going to be hard, but that is okay. It really is.

What are some good exercises to do at home to burn fat & gain muscle?

This is for the ladies I think...How do I keep from chaffing while Spinning or bike riding?

girl_in_ve

I am a semi-out of shape overweight woman and I have gone spinning two times. I have no problem keeping up or dealing with the 60 minute workout but the guy who runs the program keeps telling me that my butt will toughen up. Ladies I don't have the nerve to tell him that it is not the butt that is getting sore but urr other parts even with a Gel seat. HELP ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Answer
Hum... There are some good suggestions in here and a couple of bad ones as well.

You ought to know, there are really two major problems that can arise from sitting on a bicycle seat.

The first problem is pressure which can cause bruising. A gel seat cover and chamois can help with bruising. Also, your bottom will toughen up in a few weeks and you won't be as troubled by it. Getting off the saddle and pedalling while standing on occaision will help to releive pressure, as well.

The second problem is chaffing. Chaffing is caused by friction and you've got to eliminate the causes of friction to deal with the problem. Chaffing can lead to saddle sores, so you don't want to ignore it.

First, good, snug fitting cycling shorts with a chamois are an absolute necessity. If you already have some tight exercise shorts, you may want to buy cycling briefs with a chamois to go under your exercise shorts. Loose clothing is your enemy as bunching and gathering of fabric causes friction on tender bottom parts.

Secondly, be sure you go commando when you get the cycling shorts. Again, extra layers of fabric are your enemy.

Thirdly, a lubricant like Assos Chamois Cream or Paceline Chamois Butt'r will help. Body Glide may help but I tend to think it is better for preventing blisters where there is skin on skin contact when running (like toes) than for keeping my bottom from chaffing. The Assos product is medicated and will help clear up existing saddle sores and keep them from getting infected. It is, however, very expensive.

Talcum may help. I have never tried that before. Certainly it is cheap enough to try once, though.

Hope this helps.

Name something embarrassing that has happened to you?

Q. I know people ask this all the time but there's always different people answering and you get to read some pretty crazy stories! It doesn't have to be the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you if you don't want to say or you've already answered it before, but just tell something embarrassing that has happened to you. Anything at all, but the more embarrassing the better! Everybody has a lame tripped and fell in public story, but I want to hear something more interesting and original than that.

Answer
I was in math class (I think it was) in high school. I let out a large sneeze and banged my head on the desk in the process. Quite a few people saw and laughed, the teacher however was trying best to resist from laughing. I even had a red mark on my forehead.
Another time (also in high school) I reading about socrates but every line with socrates I pronounced it "so-crates" like in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, even when I was corrected it still came out "so-crates".
I'm a young guy again... my dad has bought me a shiny new bike so I can get from and to work easily. "Hey, why don't you take it for a quick spin?" "Yeah sure..." So I get on the bike and ride decently fast around the parking lot to test the speed and control. I see not to far from me that a car is pulling out so I applied the back wheel brake. Wham! In an instant I'm lying on my back on the concrete and the bike is 10 feet from me. How did I get from point a to point b? I got to a point when I felt was an appropriate distance from a car and applied what I thought was the back wheel brake but unfortunately was the front wheel brake, I find myself flying off my seat and hurled onto the concrete all due to the rapid halt. Let me just add that this center with the bike shop is also a pretty popular place.
Young guy again... I'm out drinking with a few of my friends and we decide to to go check out this party. When we get there everything that is coming out of my mouth is either incoherent or not worded not the way I intended. So I'm in there having a good time and I start talking to this girl. "Hows you doin'", "I'm doing pretty good, you?", "Fanplastic"...(Can't remember the entirety of the conversation but leads up to her talking about how she looks or something)... (Here I come in when she say's she is ugly, it processes in my mind for a second, "tell the pretty lady she is pretty).. "Na! You're not pretty, your're ugly" "WHAT!" "I have to go feed my pigeon bird (there was a crazy looking bird at the party I was trying to feed earlier) I got to go!"
I don't know what else I can add, quite possibly a billion funny and sometimes embarrassing situations I've been in but don't remember.
Hold on, these I just remembered later today:
Once in the mall I waved to a cardboard cut out of a person thinking it was someone who knew me waving. Behind my reasoning: I'm extremely near sighted and well known.
I stopped into a chocolate store one time and spotted chocolate that looked like it was for sampling. I had a few but then a lady at the register said "Excuse me sir! those are not for sampling!" I freaked out, mumbled, and ran.
Once when I was getting high in the woods with some friends, a pal of mine on his way. It was decided that we make a gravity bong and I should get some water. So as I was making my way out of the woods on a path to get water for a gravity bong, I saw a silhouette of a dude running full pace towards me. It had to be an angry neighbor-guy-cop so I jumped out of the way and into some bushes. My bud (the silhouette I assumed was an angry neighbor) gracefully skipped over my feet, says back to me "hey dude I got some water", I remain on the ground still all freaked out and covered in dirt and stems, and my other pals are laughing.

What kind of bicycle would best fit my lifestyle?

mipy

I am looking to buy a bike, preferably a BMX although I do not do tricks, but I would like to cruise around the city with my pals. I don't really want to spend over $120, but I do want some quality. Haro? Redline? Mongoose? Also, does spray painting the frame of a bike totally mess it up? Thanks everyone! :)

Answer
BMX bikes are TERRIBLE for actually going anywhere. They're only good for tricks. Why are they terrible? They're completely designed for tricks, with a saddle that doesn't get in the way during tricks (not fit for riding comfortably), bars that come high for more controls during spins (you'll be stuck upright in the wind, good luck getting over 15mph or so), etc. You'll be standing up to pedal the whole way (uncomfortable for extended periods) and it'll just be a generally unpleasant experience. If you end up sitting on the saddle, you'll be one of those funny guys I see commuting with their knees hitting their chin on the upstroke of the pedal stroke, hah.

if you simply want to trot along at a casual pace with friends, get a cheap beach cruiser, which might be the only thing you can afford with $120.

If you actually want to *go* places, and go places quickly, you want a road bike. Vintage road bikes can be had for cheap, within your budget, but you'll be put over your budget with accessories (helmet: 20, lock: 20, lights for night riding: 20, random parts you'll need for old bike repair: 20ish). Plus you need to know what you're doing when you're shopping for used bikes.

I pass BMX/cruiser guys all the time on my 1987 Japanese road bike I picked up for $100 on craigslist, in need of about $30 worth of repair. Sometimes, I see those I pass start sprinting in some manly, testosterone-driven spur of the moment competition, but there's no way they ever catch up to me on my road bike with thin, high pressure, slick tires (less rolling resistance).

Also, you said you want 'quality.' There's no way in hell you're getting that with $120 worth of department store bike. Either spend a few weeks learning about bikes, and then buying a used one that'll suit you, get a friend to help you find a used one to suit you, or go to your local bicycle shop (LBS) and tell them your requirements. Your LBS is going to be your best friend if you go in with enough money.

i heard it doesnt give off as much heat with true duals

Answer
That system is a pretty decent performer...BUT....You WILL need to remap the injection with an exhaust change of that degree...a hi-flo air cleaner should also be added if it hasn't aleady been done.
HD's "Stage 1 Download" will NOT be sufficient for this system...you will need the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner and have it DYNO TUNED....

you can email me here through my profile if you ahve any questions...I also have some other recommendations I could make, but not enough room here...

An answer to a similar question..
They guys you were talking to are kind of right. With the pipes you are looking at, the bike really does need to have a hi-flo air cleaner put on. The dramatic decrease in restriction and the short length are the reason. Shorter pipes generally cause a drop in power in the low and mid-range, but can be compensated for somewhat by adding a set of Samson Torque Cones. The air cleaner will be needed to let more air in also to help compensate for the increase in exhaust flow. The Screamin Eagle air cleaner is ok, but the Arlen Ness Big Sucker (get the Stage 2 version) is better and about the same price. The S/E uses a shallow, dry filter material similar to a fiber glass mat, the Big Sucker uses a deeper K&N filter that flows considerably more air than the S/E. The stock HD air cleaner is THE most power restricting part on the bike. If you pull off the cover and look at the element, you will see why...it literally starves the engine for air, the reason for this from the factory...EPA NOISE pollution restrictions.
Now this is the MAJOR factor in the situation....DO NOT let anyone talk you into a Power Commander or Vance & Hines Fuel Pak, or ANY type of "piggy back"....FUEL...module!!!
You want the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner!!!
There are several reasons for this.
1. There is almost no room on a Softail to mount an add-on module, it basically get jammed and stuffed under the seat. "piggy back" modules plug in-line between the bikes computer and the wire harness, they are big and bulky and create extra wiring that is a ***** to mount, route and work around.
2. They do not do anything except control fuel, they have no timing or rev limit adjustments. The Power Commander 5 for 09-up bikes does have an Auto-Tune module that will allow the system to adjust the fuel by itself while you ride...BUT it is an additional couple hundred dollars, and you have to add yet another module to allow for timing adjustments...now you have 2 additional modules to try and figure how and where to mount. All together you will end up having arouns $1000 in modules.

The Screamin Eagle Super Tuner is basically nothing but software that reprograms the stock computer. It is a box that goes between 2 cables that link the bike to a PC. Once the computer is programmed and mapped on the dyno, you unplug it....nothing to mount. DO NOT LOSE THE BOX!!!!....if you do and need further tuning in the future for mods done later, you will have to buy another Tuner. The Tuner, once plugged in to a bike is "married" to that bike only and will not work on any other bikes. The Super Tuner has virtually unlimited tuning capabilites. It will allow for fuel mapping, accelerator pump feature for better throttle response, fully adjustable rev limit (do not rev a Softail past 6200, past that, the balancers spin too fast and can fly apart and destroy the engine), fully adjustable timing advance and curve tables, etc. I was amazed at what this thing can do when I was trained on it.
Having the timing properly set makes all the difference in the world. We tested bikes with stock timing and rev limits that had the fuel dialed in perfect for max power, then loaded in performance timing maps and had gains of 5-15 hp & tq.
And there is one more benefit to the Super Tuner compared to the others....The Tuner is about $400, the same as the others, bt no added expenses from add-on modules...its all built in.

Doing all of this, and having the bike tuned, WILL make it run cooler!!! The Twin Cams run hotter than the older Evo's like Mike has. The reasons are being tuned VERY lean for EPA standards and the Twin Cams use oil jets under the pistons. These jets squirt oil onto the bottom of the piston to help cool it. Stock engines run sooooo lean that they cause excessive heat.....here is the oxymoron....because they are so lean, HD designed the oil jets to cool the pistons....what actually happens is the pistons HEAT the oil!!!....tune the engine, richen it up, and the piston cools down, now, the oil can do its job and cool the piston....double cooling effect. Proper tuning will decreae oil temp by as much as 20-25 degress and promote longer, more reliable engine life...and you will FEEL the power increase.....generally, depending on the bike, combination of pipes and air cleaner, and how good the guy tuning the bike is, you can expect 10-15 hp & tq increase.

Do you have to put a download in a 07 softail if you put a after market exhaust on?

p aud

Answer
You don't HAVE to....BUT...it WILL run better. The 96's run extremely lean, which make them run hot, remapping the injection will cool the engine and oil temp and make it run better.
Also, adding an air cleaner, exhaust, and having it TUNED with the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner will give you a an additional 12-15 hp.

Here are some clips from answers to similar questions...

The stock ECM is NOT relearn capable, it will only self compensate under the extremely NARROW parameters by which it was programmed...it does this by the use of O2 sensors....NEVER EVER eliminate the O2 sensors!!!!!

V&H Fuel Pack, Ness Fuel Controller....are junk!!!..........Read below........it is answer to another similar question regarding injection tuning, also included is info on oil to help run COOLER...cooler + better performance.......Due to the EXTREMELY LIMITED mounting space for add-on "piggy-back" fuel controllers on a Softail.....I HIGHLY AND STRONGLY recommend the Sreamin Eagle Super Tuner.....it is only software that reprograms the ECM with nothing needing to be mounted to the bike. The Super Tuner will allow for infinite adjustments to the air/fuel ratio, ignition timing, rev-limiter, acellerator pump feature, engine decel enleanment to eliminate exhaust popping, etc.

And to make it run BETTER & COOLER.......here is some info on proper tuning........an answer to a previous question......

DO YOU HAVE A HI-FLO AIR CLEANER AND PIPES ON THE BIKE???.....IF SO, DID YOU HAVE THE ECM REMAPPED BY HD OR HAVE A SUPER TUNER OR POWER COMMANDER ON IT????...........THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!
HD'S ARE SET UP TO RUN VERY VERY LEAN DUE TO EPA REGULATIONS!!!!!!! RUNNING LEAN CAUSES THE ENGINE TO RUN HOT!!!!!!........THERE ARE OIL JETS THAT SQUIRT OIL ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE PISTON TO COOL THE PISTON.....THIS HEATS UP THE OIL..........RICHEN IT UP, THE PISTON WILL RUN COOLER....THE OIL WILL RUN COOLER.
Even if the bike is COMPLETELY STOCK.......have HD do a Stage 1 download to the ECM......if you have a Power Commander or Super Tuner on the bike..........get it dyno TUNED.....it will increase your performance and make the engine run OPTIMALLY..................her... is some info about "downloads compared to the Super Tuner.......
You want the Screamin Eagle SUPER TUNER!!!!.......and have it Dyno TUNED.....don't sttle for just having the base map loaded. The difference between being tuned and a base map is like night and day. The base maps are just that...a base to which to work form. Every engine is as individaul as we are as humans, they each require a little finesse and tuning to make them perform optimally. The Super Tuner will also allow for easier tuning for any future upgrade you may make.
A Stage 1 download is nothing more than a GENERIC map from HD that is "ok" for all bikes....this is CRAP!!!......the Stage 1 download was specifically made for a HD with Screamin Eagle Mufflers and Air Cleaner......not all mufflers (or complete exhaust systems) flow exactly the same and not all Air Cleaners flow exactly the same...meaning, if you change ANYTHING on the exhaust and intake that the Stage 1 was not designed for, it wil not work as well.....like I said every engine is DIFFERENT.
As far as power output goes....it will vary as to what components are used and how well it is tuned....but on an average from completely STOCK to an upgrade of exhaust/air cleaner, super tuner, about 12-15 horsepower........At how many miles did you start running synthetic? You should never run synthetic until at least 2500.
Which Power Commander was installed....the O2 eliminator ( DO NOT USE THIS!!!...THE O2 SENSORS ARE THERE FOR A REASON....O2 eliminators should ONLY be used for RACING applications!!!!) or the new PC 5 w/ wide band O2 sensors? (The WIDE BAND IS THE BEST fuel controller on the market for Big Twins....BUT requires a fair amount of room to install it along with extra room needed for the add-on ign control module), did you have the separate ADJUSTABLE IGNTION MODULE AND/OR AUTO TUNE MODULE (09-newer) installed also....this will HELP ALOT!!!!....the HD Super Tuner is good, but it runs narrow band O2 sensors (i like these for Sportsters because there is no module to install and conceal).....BUT it does have ignition adjustments the PC doesn't have by itself (have to add it extra with the PC5).
Either way, it sounds like you need to have the bike properly tuned....if they just simply loaded a map....that is NO GOOD...a map is just a starting point for proper tuning.
You air cleaner...did you mean BIG SUCKER???...if so good choice.....the Screamin EEagle air cleaner is way better than stock HD.....but does not hold a candle to the DEEPER K&N filter Ness uses......GOOD CHOICE.

What kind of oil does a Honda shadow take?

best spin bike under $600 image

Seth

I just bought a 93 honda shadow 600 vtwin vlx. It has about 30k miles on it. The previous owner had it sitting a while and I'm not sure when the last time it was serviced was so i'd like to change out all the fluids. Thing is this is my first bike and I don't know the first thing about maintaining a bike. So what kind of fluids do I need? As in what oil weight, and does this model have a filter? The guy at the shop said some do, some don't. I couldn't find one. Also what kind of coolant, brake fluid, etc might I need? The biggest downside of the bike is it didn't come with the owners manual.

Answer
I use Rotella T Full Synthetic 5w40 in my '95 VLX.
No, this bike does NOT have a cartridge type oil filter, it has a spin-on. The oil filter is under the left side of the engine, near the rear, about where the side stand mounts. I use this Big Bike Parts wrench to remove the filters from my Hondas.
I use either a Purolator "Pure One" PL14612, or the Walmart Super Tech cross-over.
http://www.bigbikeparts.com/images/press%20release%20pics/4-201.jpg

Use DOT 4 brake fluid and Prestone coolant mixed 50/50 with filtered water.

I bought a Haynes manual. Maybe these guys can steer you on to an owners manual.

http://vlxriders.20m.com/index.html

Almost every bike has a removable oil filter, a very few have a screen. Find a different shop, "the guy" doesn't know bikes.

Hmmm....... I was under the impression that Dura ace was available in sizes from 165 - 180mm in 2.5mm increments. (But I've been wrong before.)
http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/catalog/cycl...

Assuming you are talking road bikes (Dura Ace cranks) Here is a rough guide.

Most road bikes sized up to 54 cm use 170 mm cranks
54 - 58 cm use 172.5 mm 58 cm or greater use 175 mm. This is usually close enough for most people.

Getting the BEST size for you is a bit trickier. The best way is to measure your output with a power meter. (power v heart rate)

If you aren't prepared to go to that trouble. Here is a formula that is somewhere in between.

Start with 10% of your height. (round down, this assumes stocky build, a touch long)

Then make adjustments for the style and type of riding that you are doing.

subtract 2.5mm for lean build. or if you prefer to spin

subtract 2.5mm to 5mm
if you are female (longer thigh to shin ratio)
for track racing (better acceleration)
if you have frequent knee problems (less knee bend)

add 2.5mm
for time trials
hilly rides
if you prefer to mash

add 2.5 to 5mm
pure hill climbs
(and MTB races)
(Out of the saddle you can get away with a much longer cranks since body movement reduces knee bend)

P.s. Looks like MR has the downthumb troll. Where's mine?

In cycling/spinning (on a stationary bike), what's the difference between RPM and watts?

razzb

I want to convert RPM to watts - is this possible?

Answer
RPM (Revolutions per minute) refers to how fast the wheel is turning.
Watt is a unit of power generated , or consumed by the a system. It can be expressed in calories, BTU's (British thermal units) ,or even horsepower. The electric meter in your house measures how many watts are being consumed per hour by your appliances ,or energy consumption.
Since there is an a direct correlation between how fast the wheel spins, and how much energy it takes to sustain the elevated speed, you could make a rough index of consumption at different RPM's. That is not called a conversion, it is just a comparative estimate.

I just got a new spin bike and I was wondering if you lose weight all over your body, or do you just lose it in your lower body? Some people are telling me I won't lose weight on my upper body and some people say I will. It's not the only thing I will be doing to exercise by the way.

Answer
yes u will because this is a cardio workout. cardio burns fat and the fat is burned from all the fat cells in ur body .. we dont just shrink from one place.. however ur lower muscles are becoming stronger so dont ignore the upper ones so that there would be no imbalance .

What is the difference between a spinner bike and an exercise bike?

Teresa

I have been researching the spinner bike and it burns tons of calories. The bikes looks just like a regular exercise bike. Have anyone experience riding the spinner bike, is there a difference?

Answer
Hi Teresa! I'm familiar with spinner bikes. Normal users don't seem to care for them. The reason is motivation. A spinner bike is used best at a spinning class (say at the YMCA/YWCA where the teacher/class provide motivation) or purchased by "road warrior" cycling enthusiasts who are highly self motivated to supplement outdoor training when they can't "hit the road". In any event, without cycling or spinning training, a spinner bike should not be considered. With a spinner bike there's shifting involved and normally no programs or electronics to guide the user through a workout. In otherwords, it isn't the spinner bike that burns more calories, but the motivation to push oneself. Also, the average person can't handle the strenuous spinner bike workouts, so paying substantially more for a spinner bike, rather than a normal exercise bike (recumbent or upright) would be a waste of money. In the end, spinning without proper training could actually have a negative impact on a person's outlook, causing them to loose interest in exercising altogether...

You'll get a great cardio workout with either a recumbent or upright exercise bike. Quality exercise bikes will run $500 - $2,000 or more. Stay away from the low end bikes and look for one with a good warranty of 10 years or more. I'd suggest Endurance exercise bikes because they have Lifetime warranties. I hope that helps... Happy exercise bike hunting!

I am 5.1 and I am looking for a spin bike to buy.

Answer
Most spin bikes will fit about anyone. The good ones will have plenty of saddle and handlebar adjustments.

What is the best indoor group spin bike for the price? And also if money were no object?

shanana

Hoping to hear from group fitness directors, spin class teachers, and any salepeople who can give an unbiased opinion. Looking to buy 20-30 new spin bikes within the next 2 months.

Answer
I'm a customer not an instructor, but I've been to a lot of clubs and rode a lot of spin bikes. The best one I've been on was a Lemond Revmaster. There have been other good ones, but the little design details of the Lemond made it really good for a hard-core roadie like me.

Answer
By June this year? Like in 2 months?!?
Just one thing...June 2012, not June 2011 or maybe March 2013, to keep lower expectations so youâre never disappointed.

The best rate of body fat loss is half a pound a week (1,750 calories of exercising is hard enough when you cannot eat more than your BMR). The slower the weight loss, the better your chance to keep it off. Do it too fast and just end up with the 95% of people who fail (like losing weight only to regain it). Youâll make the diet industry happy once you send your metabolism down the drain if you eat under your BMR.

50 pounds is 100 weeks, 700 days, almost 2 years but you could probably speed it up once you start to enjoy exercising and work out for 2 hours/day (you cannot work out more than 2 hours if you do not eat more than your BMR).

Fit people eat enough to cover their BMR and then eat more to exercise easily and efficiently to stay in shape and maintain their muscle mass. Theyâre actually having fun. After about 30 minutes in your THR zone, the body starts releasing chemicals to prevent pain so you can keep going. Those natural chemicals (endorphins, epinephrine, serotonin, dopamine, among others) make you feel so goodâ¦happy, energetic...

People who need to lose weight and use their fat reserves cannot eat more and have to exercise for 3,500 calories for each pound of body fat they wish to lose, doing it the hard way, with no help from extra food/energy, while being unfit with an inefficient cardiovascular system, not having the necessary muscle mass to make it easier but having to experience soreness while building muscle mass, having to deal with extra weight...basically hating exercising, thinking itâs a chore.

My answer is probably not what you want to hear. I can do worse...whatâs up with the 50 crunches, the 100 squats, the 20 push-ups and the 50 lunges? How many reps you do is irrelevant. I do not even think you can do 50 crunches with proper form...3 seconds up, 3 seconds down, real seconds not just counting, slow enough to reach the deep muscle fibers and feed the burn without using momentum while keeping your belly in and your back pressed flat into the floor.
And why would you even spend 5 minutes doing crunches (50 x 6 seconds) when you could get more results adding some weights or incline and do half the reps? Same with the squats and lunges...100 squats?!? Iâd get bored to death above 25 and more than 2.5 minutes (3 seconds down, 3 seconds up). Wear a weight belt or a backpack filled with books.
I donât know about your push-ups. I cannot believe youâd be able to weigh 200lbs, be a female, and be able to do 20 floor push-ups. But you can do wall or dresser/desk push-ups (4 seconds down inhaling, 3 seconds up exhaling).
How many reps you do is irrelevant. What counts is that you progress each session, so you can add a couple of reps for the SAME physical effort as you get stronger. Stop when you feel the burn which means that you damaged your muscle fiber and now have to wait a few days to repair stronger. Rest is the most important part to get stronger. The last rep just takes a few seconds to tear your muscle fibers when you feel the burn, and before you lose proper form, but it can take days to repair stronger and build up added muscle mass.
Do not do 20, 50 or 100 of this or that. Do what you can and you do it right when you can add a couple of reps each session for the same physical effort. You should be able to triple or quadruple your strength in about 3 months so you get in shape and rev up your metabolism (plus you look great when youâre strong and toned).

Also...about your diet: learn to cook which is not just cooking an egg, or making a sandwich or a salad. Avoid anything with âbarâ in it or things coming in boxes (except for whole-wheat pasta or brown rice). You donât even need to know how to cook to use a steamer and steam salmon with broccoli and carrots on the top tier.
